Last year "high" at D' Highlands

October 15, 2006 – Today is one of those special days. Why? #1 We’re celebrating Maqs’, our son’s 10th month-birthday in advance, #2 Tito Dex, our old-time friend is coming over for a visit and lastly, Lola Mada is here for her first getaway after her operation, to sum it up it’s a thanksgiving trip.

Tagaytay Highlands is one of those cool, refreshing places to go especially when your weekend is steaming hot, with the sun up and there’s nothing much to do at home. But before you could go there, be sure you have had pre-arranged the trip with them. Walk-ins are not allowed to enter the premises.

It’s a less-than-an-hour drive from home and everybody is eager and excited to see "what’s up there?" in the Highlands. One tip to enjoy the trip going there, roll down your windows as soon as you see that there aren’t enough cars on the road – often it’s past the Rotonda. We usually do this every now and then. Let yourselves enjoy the cool breeze and clean air, not many people can do that nowadays.

As you enter the premises, drive slowly (I mean it!) because of the steep road going down and a sharp U-turn. I am not sure but it may be a 45-degree angle road or more. Sarap ng feeling kasi para kang nasa ibang bansa. The plan was to be here all day and spend time with endless chats and …. eating.

The Country Club. We first went to The Country Club to get our guest card and meet our host. The guest card is used to purchase food and drinks while inside Highlands – not cash. They just log all the stuffs you ordered and you can just settle the bills before you leave. For a personal trip with family, they have a minimum consumable rate of 3000 PhP, @10 pax maximum. The Country Club offers a nice scenery, landscaped gardens, with swimming pools and Jacuzzi, children’s playground and has a lot of good, peculiar sculptures.

This pic above was taken after eating a sumptuous buffet lunch at The Veranda. It’s on the 2nd floor of the Country Club. Halata bang busog lahat? Si Maqs siguradong busog.
This is my family, with Woodlands at the back scene. Dito rin namin nakita sina Ariel Rivera at Gelli De Belen with their 2 sons taking the weekend off. Nahiya akong magpa-picture eh, sabi ni Manny "kaya nga sila nagpupunta sa ganitong lugar para may privacy sila". Sayang walang "ibidinsiya" … he he

Maqs enjoys a dip at the Jacuzzi while Nicole stays put with Mama.

Next stop is the Children's Playground. Itong lugar na ito simple lang pero patok kay Nicole. She enjoyed it here, actually kami rin, nakapagpahinga….

The Woodlands
Of all the model houses available here, this is the one style I loved the most.

This is one of my dream houses, kasi marami akong dream house. Someday, I will own one of this. (Isipin daw lagi para maging totoo.. He he) . This picture was taken from the cable car.

This place was where Raymart and Claudine exchanged their marriage vows.

These pics above were taken from the Golf Club. Walang kuha si Manny at tulog ( sobrang busog) hehe… Dex, our long time friend was here...kaya special…. :o)

Haayyy! Pagod na sila kakapasyal! Pero di pa rin gutom sa dami ng nakain namin over lunch.
Pagod pero very worth it!!!
